Change a dimension into an annotative dimension object.
Transcript
00:04
So how did the vertical dimension become annotative?
00:09
All objects that support annotation scaling
00:12
include an annotative object property.
00:15
You can therefore make any non annotative dimension.
00:18
Annotative by simply enabling this property
00:24
double click inside the left viewport to make it active,
00:28
then select the non
00:30
annotative horizontal dimension.
00:32
Right click and choose properties to open the properties palette
00:37
in the property's palate.
00:39
In the miscellaneous group,
00:41
you see a property called annotative.
00:44
And for the dimension object you selected that property is currently set to know
00:51
click in that field to make it active,
00:53
expand the drop down and select yes.
00:57
When you do
00:59
the horizontal dimension in the right viewport disappears,
01:03
it disappears because at present that object was only set to
01:07
display when the annotation scale is set to 1 to 1.
01:12
But you can add the 1 to 4 scale to
01:14
the list of scales at which the dimension should display
01:19
in the property's palate. The property below annotative is annotative scale.
01:25
When you select that field, an adjacent tool becomes available.
01:30
And when you select that tool,
01:32
the program displays the annotation object scale dialogue.
01:37
The object scale list shows the scales at
01:40
which the selected object should be displayed.
01:44
That list currently includes only the 1 to 1 scale.
01:48
The scale at which the dimension was originally created.
01:52
Click add to open the add scales to object dialogue,
01:57
press control, select 1 to 2 and 1 to 4 and then click. OK.
02:04
Those two scales are now added to the list,
02:08
click OK to close the annotation object scale dialogue.
02:13
Now you can again see both dimensions in the viewport on the right
02:18
and they are both the same size
02:21
on the status bar. Change the scale of the right viewport to 1 to 2.
02:27
Since both dimensions are now annotative, they both resize
02:33
double click outside the view ports and then type re
02:37
to regenerate the drawing and update the scale label.
02:41
When you switch back to the model tab,
02:44
you see only one version of the two dimensions.
02:47
But now when you change the annotation scale back to 1 to 1,
02:52
both dimensions update because both are now annotative.
02:57
And when you hover the cursor over either of those objects,
03:01
you see the annotative object badge which
03:04
helps you identify which objects are annotative.
