00:03
To prepare for running an ambient room temperature simulation in Autodesk CFD,
00:08
you must specify the physical characteristics of the model.
00:12
This includes assigning materials to model parts.
00:16
In this example, glass wool insulation material is assigned to the walls and ceilings in an AEC model.
00:23
To start, left-click both the wall and ceiling parts to select them.
00:27
Then, on the ribbon, in the Setup tab, Materials panel, click Edit.
00:33
The Materials quick edit dialog opens, where you can select the material type.
00:39
For this example, under Property settings, click the Type value to expand the drop-down, and select Solid.
00:46
Next, expand the Name drop-down and select Glass Wool.
00:51
Click Apply.
00:53
To verify that the glass wool material is properly assigned, in the Design Study Bar,
00:58
confirm the material assignment for the two fixed Glass Wool parts.
01:02
Then, in the graphics window,
01:05
be sure that the color of the wall and ceiling parts now matches the Glass Wool color in the legend.
01:10
With this material assigned, you are ready to move on to the next step of preparing your model for a CFD simulation.
