There's one more tool in the properties pop up that you need to know about.
00:07
For this one. Let's use the layers palette.
00:10
I'll click on the home tab to get to it
00:12
to better demonstrate this next feature.
00:14
Let's draw a line from somewhere above the layers palette to somewhere below it.
00:19
Similar to what I've done here.
00:20
Basically, we want the pallet to cover up part of the line. Now, right?
00:25
Click on the side bar to get the properties pop up,
00:27
make sure auto hide is turned off and then select transparence.
00:32
Now we'll see the transparency dialogue.
00:34
This is a very handy feature
00:36
by default pallets are solid.
00:38
You can set these independently or the same,
00:41
but you can't set the rollover transparency to be less than the general setting.
00:46
We'll set both to 50%.
00:48
By the way,
00:49
the click,
00:49
the preview button is a bit of a relic as
00:52
the palette will update its transparency settings in real time.
00:55
So you should now be able to see the line we just drew behind the pallet.
00:60
The final thing to know about are the two check boxes at the bottom.
01:03
If you want these settings to apply to all pallets.
01:06
Check the top one,
01:07
the bottom check box will disable all pallet transparency.
01:11
When you click it, you'll see that the transparency sliders are now disabled
01:15
if that's not what you want, uncheck it.
