Reset Desktop Connector

Reset Desktop Connector using the Reset Utility.

Desktop Connector includes the Reset Utility to automate steps for resetting the software.

It is important to ensure your local workspace data is synced to the cloud prior to performing this process.

First, to find the utility on your local drive, in File Explorer, navigate to Program Files > Autodesk > Desktop Connector > Reset.

Scroll down the list until you find ResetDesktopConnector.exe.

This is the Reset Utility.

Double-click it to start the utility and review the available options.

In the console window that opens, there are 3 options.

Type 3 to Cancel, and the utility closes.

Double-click ResetDesktopConnector.exe to launch it again.

Type 2 to Open online help, and your browser opens to the help page for the Reset Utility.

Simply scroll to view the available information, then exit or minimize the browser to return to the console window.

Before selecting the first option to reset the software, it is important to exit Desktop Connector.

In the system tray, right-click Desktop Connector, and select Exit.

Now, in the console window, type 1.

The utility warns that it will delete your local cache of files and folders.

When finished, the utility confirms completion.

Now that the reset is complete, restart Desktop Connector and follow the prompts to add projects to your local workspace.
