Type:
Tutorial
Length:
2 min.
Transcript
00:03
When using Autodesk Point Layout,
00:06
the Add Curve/Line Points tool allows you to add points to mark any linework in AutoCAD, including vertices and end points.
00:16
You can also choose to offset the points from the lines or curves.
00:20
With a project open, right-click in the model space and choose Point Layout > Add Curve/Line Pts.
00:29
In the dialog that opens, first, open the tab for what you want to mark.
00:34
Electrical trench points are being marked for this example.
00:38
Type in a description for the points, adjust any other necessary fields in the dialog, and then click OK.
00:47
Now, select the line or lines you want to add points to, then press ENTER.
00:54
You are prompted to choose if you want to mark vertices—here, No—or end points—Yes.
01:04
You also need to select whether you want the points to be offset from the line or lines.
01:09
Click No.
01:12
Note that on the command line, you can ignore lines that are shorter than a certain length by setting a filter as your tolerance,
01:19
and you can enter a value for point spacing.
01:23
In this case, points are placed 60 inches apart along the entire length of the selected line.
