When using Autodesk Point Layout,

you can use the Automated Location Points tool to mark pipe and electrical stub-up and endpoints in your project.

With a project open in the model space, right-click and select Point Layout > Automated Location Pts.

In the Autodesk Point Layout dialog, open the Pipe Hangers tab.

First, enter a Start Number.

In this case, 6000 is entered.

For this example, make sure that both Pipe Stub Pts and Select Some are enabled, then click OK to close the dialog.

Click and drag to select a portion of your project, then press ENTER.

In the Marking Style notification, you can choose to mark both ends, only the top, or only the bottom of stub-ups.

You can also choose to include size in the point description.

Use the ViewCube to orbit your project, then zoom to see that all tops and bottoms of vertical pipe have been marked.

Re-open the Autodesk Point Layout dialog, and this time, enable Pipe End Pts.
