Print Revit view and sheet sets

As a project progresses, you may need to print the same views or sheets on a regular basis.

To streamline the printing process, you can create and save sets of views or sheets,

to make it easy to reprint them.

To complete this exercise, open PrintingViews[2024].rvt.

To create a sheet set, click the File tab, and then click Print.

The Print dialog opens.

In the Print Range area, you can choose what you want to print.

Enable the Selected views/sheets option,

and then click Select to open the Select Views/Sheets dialog.

If you already have a set created, you can expand the Select print set drop-down

and choose a set to print from the list.

For this example, to the right of this drop-down, click the second icon,

Create new empty set.

Enter a Name for the new set, and then click OK.

When you do, all the views and sheets in your current project appear,

each with a checkbox to select that view or sheet for printing.

Expand the Display Filter drop-down and deselect 2D views and 3D views,

so you can only see the sheets in your project.

At the bottom of the dialog, click Check all.

You can modify the print order by clicking Edit print order,

but for this example, click Save current set.

The selected sheets are saved to the print set you created.

With the set you want to print selected, click Select to close the Select Views/Sheets dialog.

Back in the Print dialog, click Setup to open the Print Setup dialog,

where you can specify print options, if needed.

For example, expand the Name drop-down for a list of saved print settings.

You can also select the paper Size and Source, sheet Orientation, and several other print settings.

At the bottom of the dialog, under Options, you can control the visibility of certain elements,

When you are done selecting print settings, click OK to close the Print Setup dialog.
