In ACC Docs, you can create a Data Exchange from a published 3D view to share a portion of your Revit model with other collaborators.
00:12
In Revit, once you have defined your 3D view with the subset of data to be shared,
00:18
the next step is to publish it to the cloud for use in the Data Exchange.
00:23
In this example, the Snowdon Towers sample project is being used to create a Data Exchange for an aluminum door manufacturer.
00:32
A 3D view with the aluminum door data has already been created, and now, that view needs to be published.
00:40
On the ribbon, open the Collaborate tab, then click Publish Settings.
00:46
The Publish Settings dialog opens with settings to select the views and sheets to publish to the cloud.
00:53
For this example, create a new set to distinguish the views for Data Exchange.
00:59
Click New Set and, in the New Set dialog, Name field, enter a new name, such as “Data Exchange”.
01:09
Click OK.
01:11
Back in the Publish Settings dialog, in the Select Sets list, select the new Data Exchange set.
01:19
To quickly find your previously created 3D view and add it to this set, from the Edit Set group,
01:25
expand the Show In List drop-down and select 3D Views in the Model.
01:31
Now, only 3D views appear in the list.
01:35
In the Search field, enter "Data" to narrow the results,
01:39
and from the list, select the DataExchange -Doors 3D view.
01:44
Click Save & Close.
01:47
The view is now part of the Data Exchange set, which you can choose for publishing by selecting its checkbox in the Include column.
01:55
Next, synchronize your model.
01:59
On the Quick Access Toolbar, select Synchronize and Modify Settings.
02:04
In the Synchronize with Central dialog, verify that the Central Model location is accurate, then click OK.
02:13
The synchronization of your model with the Autodesk Construction Cloud begins, and a loading dialog displays.
02:21
Once the model is synchronized, you can publish your changes to the cloud.
02:26
On the Quick Access toolbar, click Home, then select Autodesk Docs.
02:32
In your ACC Docs Project Files, navigate to your model and select it.
02:41
Then, click Publish.
02:45
In the Publish to the Cloud dialog, click Publish to confirm.
02:50
Back on the Home view, the Publish Status of the model file displays its progress.
02:56
Now that your prepared 3D view is published to the cloud, you can use it to create a Data Exchange to share the contents of the 3D view.
