AU 2022 Call for Proposals and Community Voting Are Open

AU speaker on stage

How are you adapting to change and reimagining possible? Where are you on your digital transformation journey? In what ways are you innovating to increase sustainability and prepare for what’s ahead?

We're very excited to announce that AU 2022 will return as an in-person conference, hosted in New Orleans September 27-29. Call for Proposals is open now through April 15. This year we’re accepting proposals in English from innovators and thought leaders around the globe.

You’ll want to read the Requirements Guide carefully, as some aspects of the conference have changed from previous years. Some important details include the following:

A focus on insight

The learning focus for AU will be slightly different this year. We’re looking for class proposals that focus on strategy, insight, and inspiration, in addition to workflow-based “how-to” content. Rather than focusing on how you did something, tell us why you did it, the process you went through to make the decisions, and what you learned along the way. We want to hear about the impact—for you, your company, your industry, and the planet.

Tell us:

  • In what ways are you approaching the challenges and opportunities of digital transformation?
  • How are you reimagining your engagement with customers and overall function as a business?
  • What are you doing to connect people, processes, and projects?
  • What practices are you using to achieve more sustainable project outcomes and create more sustainable products?

New class formats

Class formats for AU 2022 are also slightly different than in previous years. For starters, due to health and safety concerns, we will not offer Hands-on Labs. AU 2022 class formats will include:

  • Industry Talk—Share your big ideas, industry insights, and thought leadership in a lecture style.
  • Case Study—Showcase a specific project, focusing on the challenge you faced, the solution you found, and what you achieved.
  • Technical Instruction—Formerly known as an Instructional Demo, this format presents skills-based workflows, processes, and tips and tricks.
  • Product Demo—If you’re an Autodesk employee, partner, or AU sponsor, this is the format to share updates, road maps, and insider views of product development efforts.
  • Panel—Facilitate a conversation among 3-5 colleagues on an important industry topic.
  • Roundtable Discussion—Roundtables are back this year, allowing you to bring together small cohorts of professionals to collaboratively answer questions and share perspectives on important industry challenges.

Community Voting

We consider many factors in selecting classes for AU, one of which is input from our community. Community Voting is open now through April 25. This is your chance to give a thumbs up to any proposals you like. Make your voice heard—start voting today and check back often to review new proposals.

Planning to submit a proposal? They’re visible (and votable) immediately upon submission, so submitting early will maximize the number of votes you can receive.

We’re living and working in a time of rapid transformation. This brings challenge but also incredible opportunity. AU is where we come together to share innovative ideas, approaches, projects, and successes.

Submit your proposal today.
