We’re proud of the priorities we’ve set and the progress we made this past year, including achieving net-zero greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions as a company and using 100% renewable energy in operations, as was shared in the Autodesk FY21 Impact Report.

Generative Design and Hyundai’s New Ultimate Mobility Vehicle

Maybe you remember the Hyundai Elevate from AU 2020? Described as an ultimate mobility vehicle (UMV), it’s a concept car that can stand up and walk when it needs to cross difficult terrain. A combination of automotive design and advanced robotics, the project earned Hyundai’s New Horizons Studio an Autodesk Excellence Award for Innovator of the Year.

Digitizing the Reconstruction of Notre Dame
Whatever plans guided construction of the original Notre Dame cathedral in the 12th century are lost to us. At the time, architecture was not yet a distinct profession and paper was rare. Master builders sometimes drew plans on prepared animal hides called parchment which were often reused, or they built short-lived models of plaster or clay. Today, as workers finish clean up and begin to rebuild the cathedral following the devastating 2019 fire, we know this: the future of Notre Dame will be digital.
