- DYDarren YoungA Midwestern transplant now based in Southern California, veteran Autodesk University speaker Darren Young has held a variety of positions over the last 20 years, including CAD and CAM engineer, CAD administrator, and CAD/CAM systems developer. Currently Darren is the systems integration manager for Southland Industries, one of the largest mechanical engineering and construction companies in the United States. Darren manages one of the largest installations of Fabrication software licenses in the world. While Darren's true interest is the automation of manufacturing systems, his experience ranges from lean manufacturing to architecture, and this has led him to projects varying in scope from dress patterns to gas turbine piping. He has founded a consulting and development business, and he has been a technical editor and publication author.
- ARAndy RobinsAndy Robins is the software development manager for the Autodesk Fabrication products. Prior to the MAP Software acquisition Andy played a major role in the product development of the renowned CAD-Duct and CADmep+ (now Autodesk Fabrication CADmep) AutoCAD-based applications, taking its development from a '2D Lisp' based program to a full 3D c++ ObjectARX application.Beginning his tenure in 1990, Andy has over 20 years' experience in software development in the MEP sector, being heavily involved in the development of the whole MAP Software product line focused on fabrication from the onset and helping end users generate the greatest value out of their software packages.
- DPDavid PikeyDave Pikey is the Vice President of Corporate Technology for The Hill Group, a $300M Chicago-based organization engaged in mechanical construction and maintenance of building systems – all with a focus on energy efficiency and sustainability. Dave joined Hill in 1998 as a design engineer and has been developing technologies and business processes in modeling, estimating, fabrication, modular construction, and business intelligence for the company since 2004. With current responsibilities including marketing and communications, Dave is often an industry guest speaker sharing his experience on leveraging technology in a collaborative environment to deliver a better product in the construction process. Dave has a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics from Purdue University.
- SHScott HendricksScott Hendricks heads up Technical Services Delivery for the Fabrication software for Enceptia. He is an experienced instructor and implementation expert for Fabrication CADmep software, Fabrication ESTmep software, and Fabrication CAMduct software. His skills also extend to application development and customization of the Fabrication software, and he is the author of the Enceptia Configuration Pack for the U.S. market, a product that enhances the use of the Fabrication products with Imperial standards. Scott also creates courseware and video training for the Fabrication products. He previously worked for a mechanical, electrical, and plumbing contractor, and he was a union plumber and pipefitter for over 26 years, rising to the position of field supervisor before making the switch to design.
- ALAaron LawsonAaron Lawson is a Constructability Engineer for Morrow Meadows, Inc in San Diego and has 20 years experience in the electrical industry. He has been active in developing BIM workflow specifically for the Electrical applications, including contributing to the BIMforum LOD Specification. With experience as a manager for CAD detailers and electrical fabrication, his recent focus has been on customizing Autodesk's Fabrication CADmep software for use in transfering Electrical design layouts from Coordination directly to Pre-Fabrication.
