Description
Key Learnings
- Learn the efficiency issues and limitations of current existing tools to detail rebars of structural elements in Revit
- Learn development examples that use Dynamo to solve most of the particular cases described
- Learn the workflow used to interchange data from the third-party analysis software to the Revit model
- Learn how to improve productivity for rebar detailing in medium-size and large Revit models using Dynamo
Speakers
- MLMario LafontaineIm a structural engineer from Rene Lagos Engineers, a chilean structural engineering firm. During my time working in RLE I have participated in more than 1.000.000 m2 of different projects (residential, offices, retail, etc.). The most remarkable projects in which I have participated are Al Raha Beach complex in United Arab Emirates, Performance Based Design of 250m tall building in Bulgaria (Skyfort Tower), different buildings with seismic protection systems in Chile and Peru (Nunoa Capital, Plaza del Sol Buildings, etc.).I have participated as speaker in differents conferences such as CTBUH Conference (Shanghai, 2014), 10th National Conference on Earthquake Engineering (Anchorage, 2014), 16th World Conference on Earthquake Engineering (Chile, 2017). Currently I am a lecturer of Seismic Engineering in Adolfo Ibanez University. My current position in RLE is Director of New Technologies, in which I have the goal to fully incorporate BIM technologies into our daily process.
- JVJorge VillarroelStructural Engineer graduated from the Universidad de Chile in Santiago de Chile. I've been working in Rene Lagos Engineers since 2013. In 2017, I became part of the New Technologies team heading Revit app developments through the Revit API and Dynamo. In 2018, I became the director of the Innovation and Development team, where I lead a group or 4 people including structural engineers and developers. Our main task is to optimize processes using technology, contantly searching new softwares and platforms to customize our tools, so we can offer our know-how as a service for the internal client (production team) and the external (architects, contractors, designers, etc.)
