Working During a Pandemic: Mobilizing Using BIM 360 Design

When we had to quickly accommodate a fully remote working environment, BIM 360 Design software became the essential tool to continue working and collaborating as design teams with minimal interruption. Prior to the global disruption that COVID-19 caused, only 20% of the company’s portfolio was hosted on the cloud. Within three weeks, all projects were successfully migrated into BIM 360 Design and the design teams were using them. This session will elaborate on how Buro Happold’s early adoption of the software laid the foundation for the successful migration of all projects nationwide. Learn how the design teams made the switch almost overnight, and discover the benefits they have found through utilizing available BIM 360 Design collaborative tools.

    Andrea Allas is a born and raised New Yorker. Growing up she developed a fascination with the diverse city and how it would change from block to block and year to year. Since graduating with an architectural degree from Pratt Institute, she has used the global reach of New York City to develop a multinational understanding of the AEC industry. An early adopter of Revit, she quickly became a leader on implementation and usage of the software. Her natural drive for communication, organization and innovation drew her to fulfill the growing need for BIM managers within the industry. Today she leads projects across multiple sectors and cities as a Digital Design Specialist where she puts her expertise in BIM Management to work. Helping teams find new workflows and efficiencies in their BIM practice is her passion, especially when it comes to teaching new users who always bring fresh perspectives.
