So it's been suggested that a window be added to the workroom like the office has.
00:08
We don't want to add it yet without input from the rest of the team.
00:12
So we'll bring it up within a trace
00:14
in the upper left corner of the traces pallet. You'll find two icons,
00:17
click on the left one to create a new trace.
00:20
Your editor will change to display a thick blue border
00:23
and a small dock toolbar at the top.
00:25
The color will change to gray
00:27
and fade out the drawing objects.
00:29
Let's first look at the tools on the toolbar.
00:32
I'll click on the gear icon which will open a pull down menu with a couple of
00:36
sliders that allow you to control the transparency of
00:39
both the overlay and the geometry in the trace
00:42
beside the gear is your user icon.
00:45
And then a button to toggle the trace display from front to back,
00:48
which we'll see a little later
00:50
think of a trace as just another canvas for you to draw on
00:53
add whatever objects you need to get your point across.
00:56
I'll just add a piece of MT text to suggest adding a window like the office has.
01:01
I'll also add a rev cloud to make it stand out a bit.
01:04
Your new trace will appear in the pallet list
01:07
with a default incremental name,
01:09
right? Click on the trace entry to display a pop up menu.
01:12
It's good practice to name your traces similar to what Chris has done.
01:16
I'll click on rename and call this one window edition.
01:20
This trace is created and ready so we need to close it and return to our drawing.
01:24
You should note that you can open rename or delete from the right click, pull down,
01:29
but you can't close to
01:30
close the trace. Click on the X in the right corner of the toolbar.
