Start by clicking on the second filter icon above the filters list.
00:07
A group filter doesn't have a dialog interface.
00:10
It just creates a new filter in the tree list.
00:13
But like the property filter, you'll be prompted right away for a name.
00:17
Let's call it red layers.
00:19
As I said,
00:20
it's empty to begin with. Let's go back to the built in all filter
00:24
and then click on the color header to sort by color.
00:28
Click it again to change the sort to a sending
00:30
the red layers should be at the top
00:33
using your shift key, select the six red layers
00:36
drag and drop them onto your new group filter.
00:39
The layers will deselect but still appear in the all filter,
00:43
change your filter to red layers and you will see
00:46
the six layers you just moved into the group.
00:49
So through various methods, possibly including the filters you just created,
00:53
you have the very important task of getting your layers set up the way you need to,
00:58
you can save those settings to a layer state within the drawing
01:01
and even export it for use elsewhere or just for safe keeping.
01:05
Let's make some changes to our layers before we get started,
01:08
click on the name hitter to resort alphabetically and by name,
01:13
click on the arch floor filter
01:15
then double click on a
01:16
floor to make it current
01:18
at the bottom of the filters list. You'll see an invert filter check box
01:22
click on it and it will reverse the effects of the selected filter.
01:26
Now we have everything except the a
01:29
floor layer showing
01:31
click on the A a
01:32
dims layer near the top,
01:34
then control a on your keyboard to select all of the displayed layers.
01:39
Click on any thaw icon to toggle them all to freeze.
01:43
You should see that most of the layers in the drawing are now frozen and do not display
01:48
single click on the A A
01:51
dims layer to exit the multiple layer selection.
