You'll have all the same functionality with an image trace.
00:07
So let's rename this one to remove coffee bar windows.
00:11
In fact, you'll have more functionality with image traces.
00:14
Let's send the trace to the back.
00:17
Notice there are a couple of more icons on the trace toolbar
00:20
to the left of the toggle view icon. You'll find a lightning bolt
00:24
and a small box with a green check in it.
00:26
You'll also notice that the individual elements of the
00:29
trace are now enclosed within a dashed blue box
00:32
that is a feature called markup assist
00:35
and it's controlled by the lightning bolt when it's yellow, it's on.
00:39
I'll click it to toggle the feature off and the
00:41
markups will simply appear as if they're in the back.
00:44
Let's turn it back on and explore it deeper.
00:47
Hovering over one of the blue boundary edges will
00:49
make a similar badge appear by your cursor.
00:52
Soon a tool tip will appear for you.
00:55
It says click for options. So let's do that.
00:58
When I click on the boundary,
00:59
I'll get a pop up with all the options that the markup type supports.
01:03
In this case, you can change the image of a cloud into a real AUTOCAD REV cloud.
01:08
Let's click on the insert as REV cloud button.
01:11
When you do markup assist will fade out in the
01:13
markup cloud and draw in an AUTOCAD rev cloud.
01:17
Let's click on one of the word images
01:20
here. You'll find three command options. In
01:22
this case, you can either insert that word as an M leader or as a piece of M text.
01:28
You can even update a piece of existing text with the string found in the image.
01:33
If a conversion action is selected such as insert as in leader,
01:37
the markup will automatically fade.
01:39
If the markup is addressed in a way, other than converting the markup,
01:43
you can manually fade it by using the fade markup toggle in the toolbar.
01:47
If a markup was faded prematurely, there is an unfed
01:50
option.
01:51
When you click back on the converted entity,
01:54
there is also a toolbar icon you can use. If no part of the markup is selected,
01:58
it will prompt you to select one of the dashed blue boxes to fade.
