00:04
When measuring very large arcs,
00:06
when the center of the arc will be outside the area of
00:09
the drawing and therefore cannot be displayed at its true location.
00:14
You can create a jogged radius dimension
00:17
to place a jog dimension indicating the radius of a large arc
00:22
hover the cursor over the arc.
00:24
Since the program remembers the last type of dimension you added to an arc or circle.
00:30
It again, prompts you to select an arc to specify an arc length
00:35
to place a jogged radius dimension,
00:37
right click and select jogged from the shortcut menu.
00:42
Now when you hover the cursor over the arc,
00:46
you do not see a preview of the dimension.
00:49
Instead the arc highlights and the program prompts you to select an arc.
00:54
Click to select the arc.
00:57
The program then prompts you to specify the center location override.
01:03
Click to select the point where you want the jog line to begin.
01:07
This will be the new origin point of the dimension.
01:11
The program then prompts you to specify the dimension line location.
01:15
And as you move the cursor, you see a preview of the dimension
01:20
when you are satisfied with the position of the dimension,
01:23
click to place the dimension line.
01:26
Lastly, the program prompts you to specify the jog location
01:31
again as you move the cursor, the jog moves,
01:35
click to place the jog.
01:38
The resulting dimension measures the actual radius of the arc and includes the
01:43
letter R as a prefix to identify it as a radial dimension.
01:49
The command is still active
01:51
to dimension the radius of the arc on the right hover the cursor over that arc
01:56
again,
01:56
since the program remembers the last type of dimension you added to an arc or circle,
02:02
it prompts you to create another jog dimension.
02:05
Right click and select radius from the shortcut menu.
02:10
Then
02:11
select the arc
02:13
and then specify the radius dimension location
02:18
with the command still active. You can continue to place additional dimensions
02:23
when you are finished placing dimensions press enter

or escape to end the command.
