Now, some people like floating auto hiding pallets. I'm not one of them.
00:08
If that's you too, either click on the auto hide icon or right,
00:11
click the sidebar and uncheck auto hide.
00:14
Let's do that. Now,
00:16
you can drag a left sidebar pallet to the right side.
00:19
And when it gets close enough, the sidebar will switch sides.
00:22
This goes in both directions. Of course,
00:25
let's go back to the next two items in the pallets properties. Pop up. Menu,
00:29
anchor left and anchor right are really just
00:31
shortcuts to what we've done by dragging and dropping
00:35
like the drag method though, allowed docking has to be on in order to use these tools.
00:40
Notice also that auto hide is currently turned off.
00:43
When you click on anchor left,
00:45
the pallet anchors itself to the left side in a collapsed state.
00:48
So it's also a shortcut to manually turning on auto hide.
00:53
The other thing that makes docked or anchored pallets so appealing
00:56
is that when they are collapsed into their hidden state,
00:58
they will stack on top of each other.
01:00
Let's open up a few other pallets and anchor them
01:03
so that you can see how valuable this can be,
01:05
we'll start by re anchoring properties this time to the right
01:08
and by using the anchor right tool.
01:11
Next, let's use sheet set manager. Go back to the view tab to display it.
01:15
We'll anchor it left.
01:18
Next comes the blocks pallet. It too. Will anchor left?
01:22
Notice how the hidden pallets stacked with the most recent on the bottom.
01:26
Let's do the
01:27
Xref palette. Next,
01:29
anchor it left also.
01:31
Now we have three on the left. Let's put one more on the right.
01:34
How about the count palette?
01:36
Let's anchor it on the right.
01:38
Now. You have three left and two right in all.
01:41
I have five pallets open and ready to use,
01:44
taking up an absolute minimum amount of screen space.
