Using Autodesk Point Layout, you can import points into Revit.
00:09
This enables you to import as-built points to update existing locations, or to add secondary points.
00:16
With a project open in Revit, from the ribbon, Autodesk Point Layout tab, select Import Points.
00:26
From the Import Location Points from File dialog, click Select File to Import.
00:33
Then, from the file browser, choose the file to import—in this case, the as-built file.
00:42
Click Open.
00:44
Back in the Import Location Points dialog, a list of points displays.
00:51
You can either specify the location points to import or leave them all selected to import the entire list.
00:59
Note that in this case, point 9159 had a noticeable deviation in a previous comparison of field and model points,
01:08
and the import will enable you to view them both.
01:12
Select Coordinate System to select or confirm the matching coordinate system, then click OK.
01:21
Next, set the Point Role—in this case, to As Built—and then click OK.
01:28
A notification indicates that one of the points shares the same number and description,
01:34
but has a different location than an existing point in the file.
01:39
This is in reference to point 9159.
01:43
You can either Import the new secondary point or Move the existing point in your project to the new location.
01:50
In this case, click Import, then click Import again for a second issue.
01:57
Next, specify the type of location point.
02:02
Here, select Wall.
02:06
Click OK to ignore the warning, and then again to close the success notification.
02:13
Zoom into the drawing area to review the imported points.
02:18
In this case, you can select the model and as-built points to review their Properties.
02:25
Now you can import points in Revit using Autodesk Point Layout.
