The Views Menu is used to configure and save a set of visual settings that change the appearance of your model.
00:11
Adjusting the view allows you to best showcase your model, or to support a specific workflow.
00:19
First, click the name of the active view in the toolbar to display the Views Menu.
00:25
The two default views, Conceptual and Engineering,
00:29
are preconfigured views that provide different visual representations of the model.
00:35
You cannot delete or rename the default views, but you can modify the view settings.
00:42
In the Views Menu, click Settings.
00:46
The View Settings panel opens.
00:48
Select the Visualization Settings tab to customize lighting and rendering options.
00:55
For example, you can adjust the brightness, contrast,
00:59
or light intensity to enhance the appearance of your model.
01:03
You can also change the way objects render in the rendering area.
01:07
For example, toggle on and off Realistic trees, and observe the difference in the canvas.
01:15
Select the Interaction Settings tab to adjust preferences for displaying tool tips, links, or the status bar.
01:24
Here, for example, Edit Mode is set to on by default.
01:30
If you toggle this off, the program will change to Select Mode.
01:34
This means you will only be able to select objects in the canvas.
01:39
Be aware that changes to the view configuration are not tied to a specific model and are used across all models that you open.
01:48
To restore the view defaults, navigate to the Views Menu, then click Restore.
01:55
Now that you are more familiar with the View Settings panel,
01:59
you can create a custom view to share across your models.
02:03
To do this, in the Views Menu, click Add.
02:07
The View Settings Panel expands to include a space for your custom view.
02:12
Click this space and type a name for your custom view.
02:16
Then, click Settings to customize your view using the View Settings Panel.
02:22
Once it has been created, you can easily rename or remove your custom view
02:28
by navigating to the Views Menu and selecting Edit or Delete next to the name of your custom view.
02:36
Customizing views is just one way that InfraWorks helps you tailor the appearance of your model
02:42
to best meet your design requirements.
