BIM 360 saves the day

BIM 360 saves the day

Customer challenge

AEC Digital is an engineering firm delivering quality Building Information Modeling (BIM) & CAD solutions to clients in USA, UK, India & Europe. AEC Digital Solutions is promoted by practicing professionals in AEC industry based in USA & India with over 10+years of combined experience in global BIM & CAD Services.

AEC digital provides BIM services, which improve the efficiencies of their AECO clients. As a trusted advisor to the AECO community,  project’s profitability is their goal. They were looking for the best-in-class technology from market leaders such as Autodesk to deliver comprehensive solutions for their BIM and VDC projects.

This project started just before COVID outbreak in early 2020. The  challenge was designing of Atrium Place for their clients, Hines,  at Gurugram India, working remotely while at the same time maintaining business continuity .

Project goals

The Complete Construction documentation had to be done on BIM. The goal of a BIM strategy was to optimize the use of advanced BIM Technology  and processes to enhance the quality of the built environment and project outcomes while reducing costs and optimizing performance,  while engaging all stakeholders in a collaborative process that leveraged the power of information management to achieve better results.

Solution

This project started just before COVID outbreak in early 2020. As this was hosted on Autodesk BIM 360 from the beginning, the Team never had a dull day in working of the project and whole process ran smoothly during all the lockdowns etc. Autodesk BIM 360 came very handy in difficult situation. Ceinsys conducted a few training sessions on Autodesk BIM 360 tools for better understanding and that gave boost to cloud usage. Using Autodesk Revit with Autodesk BIM 360 tools meant that models and drawings were working on in real-time by multiple people remotely.

The AEC Digital team could work on their files online and changes made to files were synchronized back to the central model.

Business outcome

The ideal combination of Autodesk Revit, Autodesk Navisworks and Autodesk BIM 360 helped the Team to work from home, allowing each user to easily synchronize their work with the Autodesk Revit central model, just like they were doing so from the office before.

They were able to onboard and reduce the amount of work required to exchange and federate models, while still meeting delivery deadlines. This simply would not have been possible on their original IT infrastructure. Project was successfully handed over to contractor for construction and building construction is in progress.

Conclusion

Artee Rana, Director at AEC Digital Solutions LLC says "I am really happy about the collaboration between Autodesk Revit and Autodesk BIM 360 Design, this has changed the game for us. Due to COVID-19, we were underprepared to work remotely because of lack of appropriate work-from-home infrastructure. We decided to sign up for Autodesk BIM 360 tools to enable remote design collaboration. After several conversations and Training sessions  with Ceinsys Technical team, we became confident and were able to fully take advantage of Autodesk BIM 360 and this helped in  maintaining business continuity."

Design of Pharmaceutical Water Facility Equipment for COVID Vaccine Manufacturing Plant Facility

Space availability, placement of all equipment, and providing adequate operating space within available space was a problem for Hydropure Systems. This was a challenge because the Company had a compact design which needed to be completed in a limited time frame due to the global pandemic and vaccine demand. Another challenge was finding the time for training as the Company did not want to send their team anywhere for training and needed to complete their training urgently.

Infra Design Studio Pvt Ltd. is a young civil engineering enterprise having people with over two decades of experience in the industry. Their focus is infrastructure and their expertise lies in Highways, Transportation Systems, Bridges and Buildings. To be the best in engineering consulting industry, they began implementing Autodesk BIM into their project workflows. ‘’At IDSPL, we are committed to 100% client satisfaction with transparent work procedures which help in establishing long term relations and trust with the clients” adds Director Harshad Kaulgud. Structcore Creates Virtual Design Construction (VDC) for G+5 Sortation Centre – Metal Framing and Ceilings.

Structcore's main challenge was to have a work-sharing environment created to manage a project location in Tracy, California with a design team working from India. Daily coordination was required between the operation and design teams to reduce the time required for data management and assure the quality. Following were the key requirements while creating project models: 1) Tracking the daily progress of work and changes done by all team members 2) Tracking the work completed and challenges faced by different teams (across departments) 3) Design reviews and comments from all team members 4) Managing RFIs between the Office and Site teams 5) Identify and manage the clashes between various disciplines including architecture, structure, and MEP 6) Visualization with the latest 3D views for execution
