Description
Is it possible to disrupt traditional workflow standards and have fun at the same time? The Construction Progress Coalition (CPC) is a nonprofit organization uniting architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) professionals, technology solution providers (TSPs), and their governing organizations (GOs) around a shared language to define project interoperability standards. This common data exchange (CDX) language is not a standard per se, but a framework for stakeholders to collaboratively decide the process and data standards where they intersect with company and project requirements. To communicate effectively in the digital age, we need standards. However, those standards must be flexible enough to accommodate the unique aspects of each project. Together with our panel of industry and technology experts, we’ll discuss how to define and implement project delivery standards in more-engaging and enjoyable ways with the help of a CDX playbook.

Speakers
- NWNathan WoodNathan Wood has emerged as an innovation thought leader across the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) industry. Nathan’s experiences with Virtual Design and Construction (VDC), Lean process improvement, and Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) have led him to realize how even proven technology solutions can often result in adoption failure and lost ROI. As Executive Director of the Construction Progress Coalition (ConstructionProgress.org), Nathan blends his passion for open collaboration with real-world skepticism to produce a pragmatic strategy digital standards adoption in design and construction. When not fighting for open standards, Nathan also supports the people and process transformation as Chief Enabling Officer of SpectrumAEC. Nathan continues to support industry progress through speaking engagements, research publications, and workshop facilitation.
