- William SpierI am the BIM and Design to Fabrication SME for Graybar Services, Inc. I started in the industry as a plumbing designer with Hargis Engineers - a consulting engineering firm in Seattle where I project managed plumbing design on Nordstrom Store new construction and remodels. In the 25 years since, I’ve worked in several AEC industries, including O&M design work with Merck, Inc., a major pharmaceutical account with Johnson Controls, Inc., as well as managing the plumbing and piping virtual design coordination team for Midwest Mechanical Contractors in Kansas City. From 2007 - 2015 I was an Autodesk MEP TS and then Design to Fabrication SME for them during which time I consulted with countless MEP design and construction firms - both those who were leading and even bleeding edge, and those who had fallen behind and desperately needed to be relevant again. I'm experienced in everything form power and lighting design, HVAC, architectural & energy design, manufacturing, CFD (computational fluid dynamics), to design to fabrication and modular prefab solutions across numerous disciplines, and for the past three years have been foraying into AI and deep learning. I have spoken at AU several times over the past decade, as well as BIMForum, ASPE, AIA, Geenbuild Expo and countless Autodesk and client sponsored events. I currently reside in Blue Springs, MO with my wife Wendy, our five children and six grandchildren.
