Ok. So far we've seen the built in properties of a sheet and that of a sheet set.
00:09
You've probably already noticed
00:11
that they're rather limited. I guess you could say they're kind of a starting point.
00:15
The real power comes in the other types of properties,
00:17
the custom properties or the ones you make for your own unique situations.
00:22
Let's open the properties for sheet set again,
00:25
you'll see a button at the bottom left that reads,
00:27
edit custom properties.
00:29
Let's click on that.
00:31
You'll get the custom properties dialogue
00:33
here.
00:34
You'll see all the properties you've defined for
00:36
both the sheet set and for individual sheets.
00:39
It should currently be empty.
00:41
We'll just make a couple of examples, but I've had dozens in this list.
00:45
Let's add our first custom property by clicking on the add button
00:49
that will bring up the property definition box.
00:51
It only has three pieces to it.
00:53
The name of the new property,
00:55
its default value if any
00:56
and a very important set of radio buttons in the corner.
00:60
This is where you specify the owner of the new property.
01:03
In other words, does it belong to the overall sheet set or to each individual sheet.
01:08
In our example, we're going to create a sheet set property. So make sure that's set,
01:14
its name will be total sheets
01:15
and set a default value of 17
01:18
click on. OK, to exit
01:20
click. OK. Again to dismiss the custom properties dialogue,
01:24
you should now see 1/4 category in the sheet set properties dialogue.
01:28
It is where your custom properties will be listed.
01:31
While we're here. Let's add a sheet property.
01:34
It's also important to note that you can only get to
01:36
the edit custom properties dialogue from the sheet set properties box.
01:41
Click on edit custom properties, then click add again
01:44
and this time, click on the sheet as being the owner,
01:47
its name will be drawn by
01:49
and I'll use some random initials as the default
01:52
again. Click on. Ok, to exit
01:56
naturally, you won't see this new property in the sheet set properties box.
01:60
We'll dismiss it by clicking. Ok. And open the properties for our one
02:04
master plan sheet again.
02:05
Now you'll see a new category
02:07
that lists the sheet custom properties available to you.
