Some people use
00:05
transmit as a stand alone tool,
00:07
but it's also available from the sheet set manager.
00:10
Let's look at both methods.
00:11
First is the stand alone application.
00:14
You can find the transmit tool from the application menu.
00:17
Hover over publish and click on transmit.
00:20
The transmit tool always opens with pre populated file info.
00:24
This means that you can't get to it from the start menu.
00:28
You have to have a file open
00:30
but
00:30
it must be a named and saved file. Just clicking new won't work.
00:35
Let me show you what happens first though.
00:37
Close the transmit dialogue by clicking on cancel.
00:41
I'll start a new drawing by clicking on the plus button in the file tabs area.
00:45
Now I'll access the transmit command
00:48
that will force the dialogue that you see here to display.
00:51
It's the prompt that tells you you have to save the drawing file first.
00:55
This warning will also appear in a saved file that has unsafe changes.
00:60
So I've been careful not to do anything to the floor plan sample that we've opened.
01:04
If you see an asterisk next to its name in the file tab, I suggest you close it
01:08
and reopen it so that the save changes, warning won't appear
01:12
back to our open file.
01:13
Now, I'll run the transmit command and you'll see the create transmittal dialogue
01:20
for now. We'll click, cancel to dismiss it.
01:23
The other way to access and use et transmit is via the sheet set manager
01:28
which you may or may not use.
01:29
I'll go to the view tab and open the sheet set manager. Pallet.
01:33
I have a sheet set file to use.
01:35
It's within the civil files folder in the supplied data set.
01:39
Click on the file, pull down, select open
01:41
and select the civil project DST file from the folder and then click open.
01:46
I'll open the sheet set and you can see it contains nearly 20 files.
01:50
You can click on the top level sheet set file
01:53
and you'll find transmit in the pop up menu.
01:56
I'll go ahead and click on it.
01:57
You'll get a gathering information box, the more files you have,
02:01
the longer it will stay displayed
02:02
when it's ready.
02:03
You'll get the transmit dialogue with the entire sheet set populated in it.
02:08
I'll cancel this example.
02:10
You can also
02:11
transmit individual subsets.
02:13
So I'll right. Click on one of them
02:15
and go to transmit again
02:17
this time. As you see only the sheets in that subset are included,
02:22
you might also notice that there is no add files button.
02:25
When you run an transmit from the sheet set manager,
02:28
we'll be focusing on the stand alone application
02:30
So I'll cancel the create transmittal dialogue.
02:33
Close the sheet set by right, clicking on it
02:35
and then close the sheet set manager pallet.
