In Desktop Connector, you may encounter a scenario where an invalid folder occurs,
00:09
for example, if you create a folder directly in your local workspace.
00:14
If this happens, you can easily resolve the invalid folder.
00:19
Here is a scenario where an invalid folder requires resolution.
00:25
In the Autodesk Construction Cloud, there are three projects in the USA-Midwest hub.
00:31
In the local workspace, you can see the same three projects.
00:36
In this example, a user creates a new folder in the local workspace, titled “Vernier Road Construction”.
00:44
Notice that this new folder does not have the syncing icon and is not syncing to the cloud.
00:50
Back in the cloud, observe that the new folder does not exist.
00:55
This is an example of an invalid folder.
00:59
To remedy this, first, right-click Desktop Connector in the tray, and select Exit.
01:05
Then, restart Desktop Connector.
01:08
A warning indicates that a folder has contents that need to be cleared.
01:13
Here, you have the option to Shut down or go directly to the invalid folder.
01:19
Click the path to the folder.
01:22
In your local drive, select and delete the invalid folder.
01:25
In this case Vernier Road Construction.
01:29
The window automatically closes.
01:32
In the warning dialog, click Shut down.
01:35
A browser window opens to the help page for handling unhealthy environments in Desktop Connector,
01:41
including instructions for resolving invalid folders.
01:44
Exit the browser.
01:47
Now, restart Desktop Connector.
01:50
This time it will start normally, with no warnings.
01:54
Navigate to the local workspace, where you see that the invalid folder has been resolved.
02:00
It is important to remember to create new folders in the cloud instead of directly in your local workspace.
02:08
However, it is easy to resolve invalid folders should they occur.
