- HEHugh EvansHugh’s background spans involvement with large capital projects in the United Kingdom, USA, Norway, Singapore, Australia and New Zealand. He is a chartered professional engineer and has worked on a series of multi-disciplinary projects for Government Agencies. He works for Callaghan Innovation, New Zealand’s innovation agency, as design lead for a team tasked with rethinking the design & construction process, capitalizing on the increased levels of BIM adoption and to lead on the implementation of a new era of digitized construction for Gracefield Innovation Quarter (GIQ), a 10-hectare site, in the Wellington region, that is home to over 200 engineers, scientists, and researchers. The GIQ design team comprises of architects, engineers, 3D modelling and GIS specialists and is part of a $100m tactical estates investment addressing duty of care at the GIQ facility. Initiatives include implementation of ISO19650 and the creation of a digital twin for application across the construction and asset life cycle, utilizing the Autodesk BIM360 ecosystem. Hugh has published & presented at conferences in the UK, USA, UAE and Norway and is actively involved with Engineering New Zealand.
