You'll notice that although you move the
00:05
attribute definition and save the changes,
00:08
it appears unchanged in the editor.
00:10
This is a very important thing to note
00:13
whenever an attribute is edited,
00:14
any existing instances of its parent block must
00:18
be synchronized to the current block definition.
00:21
There are a couple of ways to do this.
00:23
Since we only have one block, it's easiest to use the at sync command,
00:27
you can type it in or find its icon in the additional tools portion of the block panel.
00:32
Click on the icon with a little green refresh symbol.
00:35
It will immediately ask you to select an option.
00:38
If you have dynamic input turned on,
00:40
you'll see it in a menu
00:42
and it will be on the command line as well.
00:44
You can get a list of attributed blocks in the drawing with the question mark,
00:47
specify a name or accept the default, which is to select a block,
00:52
we want to do that.
00:53
So let's click enter and then select the high back chair block.
00:57
You'll be asked if you want to at sync it enter yes.
01:00
And the attribute will shift to where you moved it back in the block editor.
01:04
The other method is handy when you have multiple
01:06
blocks or attributes to manage at the same time.
01:09
Let's undo the at sync we just did to move the attribute back again.
01:13
I'll use the icon in the Q A.
01:16
The tool has a lot of capabilities
01:18
for this exercise. We're only concerned with synchronization
01:22
right between the at
01:23
DEV and at sync.
01:24
Additional tools menu is the icon for the block attribute
01:27
manager whose actual name is also everyone's favorite AUTOCAD command.
01:31
Batman
01:33
run Batman to get its dialog box.
01:35
The chair color attribute should show in the list and the block
01:38
pull down at the top should be set on high back chair.
01:41
If not select high back chair from the pull down.
01:45
Now just click on the sync button in the upper right window.
01:48
The attribute will shift to the edited position and you
01:50
can close the dialogue with either OK or cancel.
01:54
Now that our new block is created and is retained as a block in our drawing.
01:58
We want to put it on the correct layer
01:60
again. Layer zero is strictly for objects within a block,
02:04
select the high back chair block and using the
02:06
layer pull down from the ribbon select layer chairs.
