Autodesk Desktop Connector is an application that runs on your desktop
00:07
and creates a virtual drive that serves as a bridge between the local file system and data in the Autodesk cloud.
00:14
This data is stored in one of three connected drives: Autodesk Docs, Autodesk Drive, and Autodesk Fusion 360.
00:24
To establish this bridge, first, create the project you want to sync with your desktop.
00:29
In Autodesk Construction Cloud, on the Projects tab, you see the projects you currently have access to
00:35
and the associated accounts.
00:38
Click Project Templates to view the project templates,
00:41
one of which is used in this example to create a project,
00:44
and then return to the Projects tab.
00:47
Select Create project.
00:49
In the Create project dialog, enter a Project name and a Project number.
00:54
Then, expand the Account drop-down and select the project hub.
00:59
In the Project type drop-down, select a type, and then select a Template.
01:05
Enter an Address, set the Time zone, and lastly, set the start and end dates.
01:11
Click Create Project.
01:14
A loading dialog displays as the project is created within the Autodesk Construction Cloud.
01:20
Once the project is created, Project Admin opens to the Members tool,
01:24
where you can add any member that is part of the Autodesk Construction Cloud,
01:28
and assign each person different access to the files and folders in the project.
01:33
Under Assigned products and permissions, toggle on Docs to allow members to use Autodesk Docs.
01:40
To review the file structure of your new ACC project, under Project Admin, select My Home.
01:46
Click the Projects tab, and then select the project you just created to open it in Autodesk Docs.
01:53
Select Files, and you see a standard folder structure,
01:56
exactly as if you had created the project on your local drive.
02:01
Once a project is created in Autodesk Construction Cloud,
02:04
it can be added to your local drive and synced using Desktop Connector.
