Create and share a project in Autodesk Construction Cloud using Desktop Connector

Autodesk Desktop Connector is an application that runs on your desktop

and creates a virtual drive that serves as a bridge between the local file system and data in the Autodesk cloud.

This data is stored in one of three connected drives: Autodesk Docs, Autodesk Drive, and Autodesk Fusion 360.

To establish this bridge, first, create the project you want to sync with your desktop.

In Autodesk Construction Cloud, on the Projects tab, you see the projects you currently have access to

and the associated accounts.

Click Project Templates to view the project templates,

one of which is used in this example to create a project,

and then return to the Projects tab.

Select Create project.

In the Create project dialog, enter a Project name and a Project number.

Then, expand the Account drop-down and select the project hub.

In the Project type drop-down, select a type, and then select a Template.

Enter an Address, set the Time zone, and lastly, set the start and end dates.

Click Create Project.

A loading dialog displays as the project is created within the Autodesk Construction Cloud.

Once the project is created, Project Admin opens to the Members tool,

where you can add any member that is part of the Autodesk Construction Cloud,

and assign each person different access to the files and folders in the project.

Under Assigned products and permissions, toggle on Docs to allow members to use Autodesk Docs.

To review the file structure of your new ACC project, under Project Admin, select My Home.

Click the Projects tab, and then select the project you just created to open it in Autodesk Docs.

Select Files, and you see a standard folder structure,

exactly as if you had created the project on your local drive.

Once a project is created in Autodesk Construction Cloud,

it can be added to your local drive and synced using Desktop Connector.
