Upload Inventor files with references using Desktop Connector

Upload an Inventor file to the cloud with all associated references.

Desktop Connector enables a simple workflow for adding your Inventor files,

along with all associated references and data, to the cloud.

Be aware that if you drag and drop Inventor files to Desktop Connector,

then the references will not be gathered correctly.

To ensure that you include references with the Inventor files,

use the Desktop Connector Upload Files and References tool.

To access this tool, right-click the Desktop Connector icon and select Upload Files and References .

In the Upload Files and References dialog, identify the location of your local data first.

Click Browse next to Local data location, and then select your Inventor file—in this case, Razor.iam.

Click Open.

The Select an Inventor Project File dialog displays to help you find your project file.

Click Browse (…) and select the file—in this case, Razor.ipj.

Click Open, then OK.

Desktop Connector gathers all associated references and data.

Now, select the desired cloud location for the files and references.

Next to Cloud destination, click Browse and then, in the Browse for Folder dialog, navigate to and select the destination.

Back in the Upload Files and References dialog, click Upload.

A Desktop Connector dialog informs you that your files are uploading and automatically closes.

You can view the upload progress on the home screen,

or in your local drive, check the syncing status of your files.

You can also navigate to your project in the cloud to view files as they upload.
