Collecting diagnostic logs

Diagnostic Logs help analyze any unexpected behavior of Desktop Connector.

For example, logs are helpful if the Desktop Connector sync engine stops working on a specific file, folder, or both.

Begin with the Desktop Connector home screen,

from your keyboard, press and hold shift,

then select the gear icon,

From the flyout, select Help, Diagnostics Mode,

the Diagnostic Mode dialogue displays.

Set both Desktop Connector logging,

and File System Monitor Logging to Verbose.

Setting the logging option to Verbose provides detailed information to the Desktop Connector team.

Click Save Changes and close the dialogue.

Next, collect the diagnostic logs.

select the gear icon again, and from the flyout, select Help, Diagnostic Logs.

A loading dialogue displays as the log files are collected.

After collection, a success message displays.

To submit the log, click "Open File Location".

A file browser opens to the location of the diagnostic log,

Right click the file and select Copy.

Now you can paste the file in an email to the Desktop Connector team,
